Austin Boothroyd(1959)

Having dedicated his working life to music education, as a composer and editor Austin Boothroyd aims to engage with and inspire live music making among students, teachers and established performers alike. His published compositions include Up We Go (Novello) for trumpet and piano and Up and Away (Novello) for French horn and piano while published editions include Ten Sonatas (Schott) and Five Capricci (Schott) for trumpet and Basso continuo by Girolamo Fantini. He has self-published a number of compositions under the label Martello Music. Studies in music took him to Sheffield University, the Royal Northern College of Music and University College London. Austin Boothroyd loves to play viola, piano and harpsichord with chamber groups and sings as often as possible with the Philharmonischer Chor Baden-Baden.
