Vorm Tore der Romantik (On the doorstep of Romanticism), for Soprano, Viola and Violoncello

The seventeen songs presented here are mostly from the late classical or early romantic period, when the art song was developed. Many of the pieces are simple strophic songs in the original, with the same accompaniment intended for each strophe. In my arrangement, I have tried to avoid the risk of monotony that this entails by varying the accompaniment from strophe to strophe. If the pieces are performed in concert, they can be combined with the duos for viola and cello by Karl Stamitz or the «duet with two obbligato eye-glasses» by Ludwig van Beethoven. Bo Wiget
